Dr Katinka van de Ven is a Senior Lecturer in Criminology, UNE, and a Visiting Fellow as part of the Drug Policy Modelling Program (DPMP), UNSW. She conducts research in relation to alcohol and other drug treatment services systems, amongst others around procurement arrangements, workforce, client outcomes and COVID-19. Katinka also specialises in the use and supply of performance and image enhancing drugs (PIEDs), and its regulation, which includes projects focused on improving health services for people who use non-prescribed steroids and other enhancement drugs, harm reduction policies, and organised crime groups.

Dr Larance is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Psychology, University of Wollongong. She previously held a Vice Chancellor's Prioritising Emerging Research Leaders (PERL) Fellowship (UOW, 2022), Vice Chancellor's Postdoctoral Research Fellowship (UOW, 2018-2022) and NHMRC Early Career Fellowship (UNSW, 2014-2018). Her research examines strategies to reduce the harms associated with illicit drug use, and innovations in the treatment of substance use disorders. Her work intersects psychology, addiction medicine, pain medicine, psychiatry and public health. She applies innovative research methods, undertaking prospective cohort studies, clinical trials, post-marketing surveillance studies and analyses of linked administrative data to generate critical knowledge relevant to health policy and clinical practice.

position: Postdoctoral Research Fellow

Dr Alison Beck is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow and Clinical Psychologist based in the School of Psychology, University of Wollongong. She has extensive clinical and research experience working with adults attending mental health and alcohol and other drug treatment services. Her research is focused on improving the delivery and outcomes of psychosocial interventions for people affected by addictive behaviours and other mental health conditions.
