Ross Bailie is Professor of Rural Health with Sydney School of Public Health. He is based in the Northern Rivers and has responsibility for research development across the University of Sydney rural clinical schools. He was Director of the University Centre for Rural Health in Lismore between September 2016 and April 2022. Previously he was Professor of Public Health, and Scientific Director, for the Centre for Primary Health Care Systems at the Menzies School of Health Research. He has qualifications in medicine, general practice, maternal and child health, and public health, and has worked in South Africa, New Zealand and Australia.

Paul is a dual qualified Public Health Physician and GP with 20 years of experience in the NT. Dr Burgess has strong interest in health systems, health services research and remote health workforce planning.
