With a background in nursing, his research interest research interests encompass the overarching generalist theme of Rural Health. His research includes are rural health workforce which incorporates nursing student career trajectory, rural medical, nursing and pharmacy employment and profession longevity, while also examining workforce grit and improving workforce learning through communities of practice. In addition, he continues to examine ways to improve rural paediatric injury and paediatric asthma outcomes, while focusing on rural healthcare access and patient decision making in emergencies.

Prof Danny Hills is a Registered Nurse with a broad range of experience in mental health, health service management, clinical governance, and workplace and tertiary teaching. Danny completed his PhD (Epidemiology) in the School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine at Monash University. His primary research interests encompass health and aged services and workforce development, workplace aggression, mental health and well-being, and ageing.

I graduated with a Bachelor of Pharmacy Degree from the University of Queensland in 1993 and in 2004 was awarded a Graduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy (UQ). I have over 20 years' experience in community and hospital pharmacy practice both in metropolitan and rural settings. I have served in the full time and part time Army as a pharmacist and logistic officer deploying overseas. During this time I contributed to clinical research in the Army Malarial Institute in Brisbane. I am an examiner with the Pharmacy Board of Australia for graduate pharmacy interns and am currently the Lecturer in Rural Pharmacy at the UDRH. My research interests include mental health training for pharmacist particularly in relation to disaster management and maintaining logistic medical support to disaster zones.

He has over 20 years of experience in healthcare working with hospitals, physicians, state agencies and academic institutions. Dr. Baker's areas of interest include healthcare policy, rural workforce planning, healthcare financing and performance improvement. He currently serves on the Board of the Idaho Rural Health Association and holds the position of Treasurer.
