Dr Paula Heggarty is academic and assessment coordinator for year 4 in the JCU College of Medicine and Dentistry. Her main interest is the development of learner-centred education programs in undergraduate and post graduate programs. She focuses on the development of learning and teaching resources including online learning modules and support programs. Clinical reasoning, support of students at risk, general practice simulation clinics and formative assessment are other areas of focus. She was awarded a National award from the Office of Learning and teaching in 2014 for Outstanding Contribution to student learning. She strives to strengthen collaboration within General Practice sector including Primary Health Networks, the RACGP, and ACRRM.
